My son Kasey started at Lion’s Den Fitness in their Cubs class the fall of 2015 and I cannot believe how he has grown. We introduced Kasey to Cubs to help him with his ADHD and learning disabilities, his Dr. suggested it could help him with his focus. In the 7 months, he has gained so much more than just improved focus. He has gained strength, friendships and self-esteem. When Kasey first started, he was the youngest cub, had no stamina, would often use the word “can’t” and needed someone with him one-on-one (me) while Coach Lynne lead the workouts. Even from the first class, Coach Lynne had a soft spot for Kasey; she loves his energy and determination. She is always encouraging and motivating him, along with all the cubs to do just one more burpee, sit up or lift. Not focusing on perfect form, but doing the exercises safely to the best of your ability, having fun and fostering an encouraging team environment. She’ll often get the older cubs to do an extra sprint or round, to help cheer on those finishing up. Coach Lynne does a great job of gearing the exercises to everyone’s individual fitness level and does it in a way so that each cub is challenged but still working together as a group/team. I feel she goes extra lengths to make this one inclusive group. Overall, LDF Cubs has been such a positive experience for Kasey. I love that I am now able to watch from the sidelines and can’t wait to see what changes and progress the next 7 months bring.
Testimonial from Transcona Regents Bantam A1 Head coach-"For two seasons now, Lynne has been working with our hockey team (Transcona Regents Bantam A1). She has developed the strength and conditioning program for our team, and its impact has been felt both on the ice as well as in the dressing room. There is a healthy sense of both competition and camaraderie that has developed out of their dry land training. This has allowed us to devote more practice time to skills and systems, since the conditioning is well supplemented. The strength training has had a huge impact in terms of puck battles and close play in the corners. The players are much more aware of how much they can push physically before they are spent, which has made our shifts lengths (35 to 45 seconds) much easier to manage, since they know their bodies well and don’t try to stay out longer than they should. I highly recommend Lion’s Den Fitness to any coach who wants help with the fitness and compete level of his team, or for anyone who simply wants to get in better shape. We will be working with Lynne again this season and are looking forward to it!"- Collin Doyle
